Completing & Submitting Your Upwork Profile for Review

competing upwork profile

Alright, let’s wrap up your Upwork profile, shall we?

By now, you’ve completed the following sections:

— Expertise Level
— Education
— Employment
— Languages
— Hourly Rate
— Title & Overview

Only three more sections to go. Let’s get to it.

8) Profile Photo

Here’s what you’re going to see:

This section is pretty straightforward, so I’m not going to spend very much time on it.

What you want to make sure here is that the picture you use clearly shows your face, is high quality, and is as close to a headshot as you can make it.

This is not a place for low-quality photos. It is not a place for pictures of your family. It is not a place for pictures of you and your friends.

Take a nice clear picture of your face — or get a professional to take the picture for you — and use that as your profile picture.

The fact is, people make impressions based on how you look. So make your picture as professional as you can possibly make it.

Moving on…

9) Location

Here’s what you’re going to see:

Pretty simple, right?

Fill out your details and move on to the next section.

10) Phone Number

Here’s what you’re going to see:

Go ahead and add your phone number.

Wrapping Up

You’ve completed filling out your Upwork profile.

The last thing you need to do is complete any sections you may have skipped and then submit your profile for review.

But a word of warning:

At this stage, your profile might get rejected. Don’t take it personally.

As there are so many people trying to get on Upwork to use their platform, the terrain can be quite competitive. They simply can’t let everyone in.

But that doesn’t mean your profile isn’t good enough.

Oftentimes, all you have to do is resubmit and then voila! Approved.

Or just continue resubmitting until it does. And if for some reason, even after multiple resubmissions, you still don’t get approved — you may need to go through your profile and add some more information.

Eventually, YOU WILL get approved. Just keep trying.

And once you do, you’ll be well on your way to making an income from home.

We’ll talk about how to win work so you can start making money soon.
