Be honest.
What are you doing to grow?
What are you doing to get better every day?
What are you doing to get ahead?
If you have trouble answering those questions, then you’re already behind.
Fortunately, you’re not too far gone.
But the longer you wait to make yourself and your circumstances better, the harder it becomes to make growth a constant in your life.
Because that’s what it has to be: A constant.
The road to becoming the best version of yourself never ends. It’s long and it’s winding — and it’ll take you places you never thought you’d have to go. But you must travel along it all the same.
If you’ve never put much thought into your personal growth before, that’s okay. It’s not something everyone thinks about. And I’m sure you can spot those people from a mile away.
But that doesn’t have to be you.
Your personal growth doesn’t have to be hard.
All you have to do is try to improve a little every day.
And the key word here is try.
You don’t always have to succeed.
You don’t always have to be perfect.
But you do need to hold in your mind the belief that you can be better. If you nurture that belief every day, your efforts, no matter how small at first, will continue to grow. And your desire to be better will grow stronger.
The best gift you can give to yourself… to your family… to your work… your friends… your community… and the entire world… is an individual who strives to be better today than they were yesterday.
That’s all you have to do.
You don’t have to scale a mountain.
You don’t have to run 100 miles.
You don’t have to be perfect in every possible way.
You just have to improve.
Be a little more patient.
A little more loving.
A little more caring and considerate.
Today, just be a little more. Then tomorrow, be a little more again. And the day after and the day after and the day after.
Soon, your ‘little more’ will compound into someone you didn’t know you could become.
If you’re not growing, you’re dying.
So choose to grow a little more today.
