Do you ever get burnt out while working?
Energy drained? Eyes heavy? Downright tired and ready to nap?
I’ve been there.
Heck, I’m there all the time.
And if you’re someone who works in front of a computer all day — especially in a creative capacity — I’m sure you are, too.
So, what can you do about this?
How do you take back your energy so you can get more done?
Well, there are many ways you can do it.
But today, I want to tell you about a simple little ‘trick’ that’s been working wonders for me.
Let me introduce you to…
The ‘33-Minute Sprint’ for Supercharged Productivity
Here’s how you do it:
When you sit down to work, you typically arrange everything on your desk, turn on the computer, and get settled in.
Next, you might open up whatever apps or websites or programs you’re going to use and then get ready to start the day.
But before you actually start, there’s one thing I want you to do:
Open up a timer and set it for 33 minutes and 33 seconds.
Then, when you’re ready, hit ‘start’ and begin working.
What you’re going to do now is work as hard and as focused as possible on the task at hand. Cut ALL other distractions and ONLY focus on your work.
Then, when the timer goes off, get up and take a 5-minute break.
Even if you’re right in the middle of doing something, it doesn’t matter. STOP WHATEVER YOU’RE DOING WHEN THE TIMER GOES OFF. This is very, very important.
Get a drink of water. Give your family a hug. Do some light exercise or some stretching. Do ANYTHING that takes your mind off the work you were doing.
Then, when your 5 minutes are up, set the timer and do it again.
Do this as many times as you can until you’re done your day.
What you’ll find is that you are:
- More productive,
- Have far more energy while working, and…
- Are faster and more intentional with the work you do.
And all you needed was a measly little timer to make it happen.
Try it and see for yourself.
If you do, I promise you’ll be more productive than ever before.
And when you’re ready
