The “By-The-Minute” wake up early strategy is something you do BEFORE going to bed.
It aims to give you the motivation you need to get out of bed and moving as soon as you open your eyes.
The only drawback to this strategy is that it requires you to override your desire to stay in bed in the morning.
And anything that pushes you to override this desire is a limited strategy, at best. Mainly because most people will just go back to sleep.
In other words…
No matter how much planning you do, if you leave it to your willpower and motivation to get out of bed in the morning…
There’s a good chance it ain’t happen’, partner.
But also, it might.
So with all that out of the way…
Here’s how the “By-The-Minute” strategy works:
The night before you want to wake up, take 15–30 mins to plan out your day. Preferably, you’ll be jumping into your most important priority almost as soon as you wake up.
For example, your “By-The-Minute” might look something like this:
- 5:00 AM — Wake up
- 5:00 / 5:15 AM — Drink water, light stretches
- 5:15 / 5:30 AM — Pre-work grounding exercise
- 5:30 / 7:00 AM — Work on top priority
And so on.
You can see where I’m going here.
The point is to plan your morning in such excruciating detail that you know exactly what to do once you hop out of bed.
This helps for two reasons:
- Your subconscious mind will remember your plan, and…
- It will also know that if you don’t follow the plan, there’s a good chance you won’t have time to tackle it later.
This is an extra layer of motivation that’s been shown to peel stubborn people out of bed more easily.
And if you put it to work for YOU…
It might just peel your stubborn butt out of bed more easily, too.
