“What’s the best way to start the day?”
Bit of a loaded question, don’t you think?
Or do you think there’s actually one almighty and all-powerful way to kick off your day on the right foot?
The answer is…
It depends.
It depends on who you are and what you deem as important.
But note those words “what you deem as important” — because that right there is where you’ll find the answer.
The truth is…
If someone tells you you have to meditate first thing in the morning, they’re right… but also wrong.
If someone tells you you have to exercise first thing in the morning — again, they’re right… but also wrong.
And if someone tells you you have to study and master your craft as soon as you wake up, can you guess what they are?
You got it — they’re right, but also wrong.
They’re wrong because no one can actually make that decision for you. That’s for each individual to decide for themselves.
And they’re right ONLY if that thing they’re suggesting is the thing that’s most important to you.
The real question you need to answer is this:
“What is my single most important priority today?”
Is it improving your health?
Is it improving your state of mind?
Is it making progress on your own personal projects?
What is that thing that’s most important to you?
THAT’S where you start your day.
Why? Because once you get that done, then you’ll feel inspired and excited for everything that comes after. And that’s how you start squeezing more substance, joy and wonder out of life.
Try it and see for yourself.
Choose what’s important to you and then start there.
I can’t think of any better way to start your day than that.
