I used to know a guy who looked like he had it all.
Looks, charm, charisma, smarts, humor, money, ambition.
I also knew many people who wanted to be just like him — or, at the very least, in close association with him.
He was always the center of attention.
He was always the one who held the room.
He was always the one calling the shots.
He was a natural-born leader through and through.
But then something happened…
Over time, he got mixed up with the wrong people doing the wrong things. That’s when everything about him changed.
His new activities consumed him.
His demeanor and attitude hardened for the worst.
Within no time at all, the ambitious young man devolved into a cold and ruthless criminal.
It was heartbreaking to see — but it also wasn’t surprising.
You could see the shift coming from a mile away.
How? How could you see something like that coming?
Easy — all you have to do is look at the people someone associates with most. Who do they spend their time with? Who are they always speaking to? Who do they rely on?
This will tell you everything you need to know.
The truth is…
Your inner circle is everything — it shapes who you’re going to be. As much as 95% of who you are is determined by the people you surround yourself with most.
Surround yourself with good people, become good.
Surround yourself with bad people, become bad.
It works without fail.
So let me ask you something…
Who are you surrounding yourself with?
If you know they’re not good for you, then you better do something about it. Otherwise, you’ll slip into a version of yourself you never wanted to become.
